COUNSELLING

Compassionate, culturally responsive counselling for women, migrants and anyone looking for a place where they can truly feel seen.

Supporting women, migrants, LGBTQIA+ clients and culturally diverse communities across Australia.

A place where you can feel seen, heard, and safe.

Compassionate, evidence-based counselling for women, migrants, LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and culturally diverse communities across Australia.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions or simply feeling overwhelmed, you don't have to face it alone.

Here, your story is respected, your identity is affirmed, and your wellbeing comes first.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

Life asks so much of women.

We are often expected to be strong, capable, nurturing, resilient, and somehow keep everything together.

If you're also navigating migration, motherhood, cultural expectations, relationship challenges, or simply trying to find yourself again, the weight can feel even heavier.

I know that feeling, not only through my work as a counsellor, but through my own lived experience.

That's why I believe therapy should be more than a place to talk.

It should be a place where you don't have to prove anything, explain your identity, or hide parts of yourself.

A place where you can finally slow down, feel understood, and begin reconnecting with who you are.

I'm here to walk alongside you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based support, at a pace that feels right for you.

ABOUT ME

I am a Psychologist from the Universidad del Valle de México (Mexico City) and Counsellor from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (Brisbane). I have over 20 years of experience giving therapy. I am originally from Mexico and have been living in Australia for more than 8 years. I am the happy mother of two beautiful daughters who are the great engine of my life. I am passionate about helping people find that balance between their emotions and the challenges of daily life, supporting their process to find the skills they have internally to overcome their problems.

MEET JESICA

With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I have had the privilege of supporting people from diverse cultural backgrounds through some of life’s most challenging moments.

As a Registered Counsellor and Lecturer in Counselling in Australia, I provide evidence-based, culturally responsive care to women, migrants, couples, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem, burnout, identity, and the emotional impact of major life changes.

Having lived the migrant experience myself, I understand the complexities of rebuilding a life in a new country while balancing family, career, cultural identity, and a sense of belonging. This lived experience allows me to offer support with genuine empathy, cultural humility, and understanding.

I am committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and non-judgemental space where people from all backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and culturally diverse communities, feel respected, heard, and safe to be themselves.

My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches tailored to each person’s unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centred Therapy, Trauma-Informed Practice, Mindfulness, and other integrative therapeutic approaches.

I am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and remain committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my practice reflects current research, ethical standards, and best practice in mental health care.

Above all, I believe that therapy is not about fixing people, it’s about creating a space where they feel safe enough to understand themselves, heal, and grow.

Sometimes when life is unpredictable and we have several challenges to solve, counselling can give you that moment you need to refocus, find your inner strength and move on.

What It's Like to Work Together

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never spoken to someone before or if you’ve had experiences where you didn’t feel understood.

My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without pressure, without judgement, and without needing to have everything figured out.

When we work together, you can expect:

Where you can speak openly, at your own pace, knowing you’ll be met with kindness and genuine care.

There is no “right” way to feel. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, burnout, or simply feeling lost, your experiences will always be respected.

You won’t need to explain every part of your cultural background or life experience before feeling understood. I value the role that culture, identity, family, and lived experiences play in our mental health.

I welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and sexual orientations. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to providing a safe, respectful space where you can be yourself.

I won’t tell you how to live your life or make decisions for you. Instead, we’ll work together to better understand what’s happening and find approaches that feel meaningful and realistic for you.

Our conversations are warm and human, but they’re also grounded in evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Whenever appropriate, I’ll help you develop strategies that support your wellbeing beyond our sessions—so you can feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.

Healing isn’t about rushing or “fixing” yourself. Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels safe, respectful, and sustainable for you.

I believe meaningful therapy happens when people feel genuinely safe—not judged, rushed, or expected to fit into a particular way of healing. My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based support as you reconnect with your own strengths.
